Car Share : another transportation option for Gabriola residents.

There is a great transportation option for those Gabriola Island residents going to Nanaimo.  The Nanaimo Car Share has a vehicle parked within a few minutes walk from the Gabriola ferry terminal at Port Place.  You sign up and purchase a refundable share, book your reservation online and pick up the vehicle, if your on an errand and need to extend your booking time a simple update from your smart phone allows you to check if your booking can be extended.  This is a great option for those that want to walk on the ferry, reduce their costs and avoid line ups on the commuter runs. The Fog...

When we approached the BC Ferries, Gabriola terminal last night we were greeted by the amazing array of city lights and the moon, shining through the fog. The echoes of the fog horn bellowed through Downtown Nanaimo, as the ferry made it's sailings across. The activity sof the city set against the stillness of the fog, so thick you couldn't see the ferrry approaching, was one of those moments you want to just capture on film...

Gabriola- winner of paint the grey box is.....

The decision has been made and Gabriola’s very own Melinda Wilde has been selected as the winner to paint the grey electrical box at the Gabriola Ferry Terminal. We’ve heard that the submissions to choose from were amazing, not at all surprising for an Island full of artists. The work is set to be underway before the May long weekend, it will be the first thing you see as you come onto the Island and the last thing you see when you leave the Isle of the Arts.
