We Live on an Island...

It's pretty evident that someone likes boating! I know this isn't the best photo, but I just had to take it and share with you. The creativity that went into creating this is freeing and it really has to put a smile on your face when your driving, to see such a creation. On the side of the "vehicle" are tire fenders, there are planters off the porch in the back and of course every ship needs a mermaid.

There is magic on this Island!

Some magic may happen in nature, while other moments are created by the people that live here. You'd have a difficult time finding a home like this in most settings, and the attention to detail and the ability to engage with one's playful side allows creativity to be limitless. A 30 ft cedar tree with the bark beautifully removed to reveal it's smooth surface is an amazing feature in any home. The creator of this home, situated at 3259 South Road Gabriola, went further into her creativity and created this magical "home" in the opening at the bottom of the tree, windows and doors for a trolls home have been craftily created and lead one to wonder about the secret life of the troll that might live there. A Handmade Valentines

     Wow...  We've been busy getting ready for Valentines, and enlisted the help of family, kids & friends to create all things Valentine.  Cookies were baked & decorated and shipped off to the school this morning.  The kids were buys painting their valentines cards, and last night we got together with a group of friends to make some pillow covers in the name of "love"...

The Fog...

When we approached the BC Ferries, Gabriola terminal last night we were greeted by the amazing array of city lights and the moon, shining through the fog. The echoes of the fog horn bellowed through Downtown Nanaimo, as the ferry made it's sailings across. The activity sof the city set against the stillness of the fog, so thick you couldn't see the ferrry approaching, was one of those moments you want to just capture on film...

Winter on Gabriola...

For some, it may be hard to believe, that this photo was taken today, Feb. 6 on the neighborhood beach of Islands View, Gabriola but for the residents of this area it's just another glorious winter day at the beach.
